Rest in peace, dear friend to so many.
Shirley Jean Williams died on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the age of 86, after 64 years of wedded bliss to Robert. Loving and devoted mother to Larry (deceased), Stephen (deceased), Caroline and Sam. Caring and thoughtful mother-in-law to Jeanne, Steve, LeAnn and Marthika. A doting grandmother to Stephanie, Cara Rose, Nora, Erin, Michael and Nicholas. Regrettably, because the grandkids lived in CA, NJ and TX, the opportunities for spoiling them did not present themselves nearly as often as she would have liked.
Shirley, a lifetime Unitarian, was born in Tulsa, OK and attended the All Souls Unitarian Church and sang in the choir. For the past 42 years, she and her husband have been members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the South Hills. Shirley's true passion (besides Robert) was preparing gourmet meals for her appreciative family and many friends. She worked fulltime as an administrative assistant for various companies and ended her career as the office manager at Baskin, Sears, Gondelman, Craig & Sachs in Pittsburgh.
A memorial service is being planned for Sat., May 5th. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to her two favorite charities: Women's Center and Shelter of Pittsburgh and the Unitarian Universalist Church of the South Hills.
